What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Elizabeth Gibbons Holtzman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist who provides strength- based therapy for children, adolescents and young adults. Her work has been informed by cognitive behavioral therapies, attachment theory and her own mindfulness practice. Dr. Holtzman is committed to developing a responsive and productive therapeutic relationship which allows for both the desired and often unexpected growth and change that occurs in the context of open, supportive, held space. Dr. Holtzman has worked in a variety of settings over the past 22 years, providing clinical services to school age children and families as well as consultation and professional development to school-based professionals. Dr. Holtzman is strongly committed to teacher wellness and works with a range of educators to promote social emotional health and reduce teacher burn out. Dr. Holtzman has taught at the college level for 15 years in the School Psychology Program at Rhode Island College.
