What does a first session with you look like?
I strongly believe in creating a safe and welcoming space for you to feel comfortable enough to share your stories. My approach to therapy is collaborative, as I want you to feel seen and heard. You are the expert on your life, and I am here to offer guidance and support along the way. While therapy can be uncomfortable at times, I hope to provide a safe environment for you to process, build awareness, explore, unlearn/relearn, and find authenticity.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I work from a humanistic, multicultural, social justice, intersectionality, and decolonizing lens. I primarily use techniques from person-centered, cognitive behavioral (CBT), mindfulness, self-compassion, narrative, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and other therapies as needed. Each client is different, so my approach is tailored to your needs. If you are looking for structure and accountability, we would set tangible goals on a regular basis. If you would benefit from flexibility and abstract thinking, we would use more reflexive and introspective exercises. I am here to support you as you embark on this journey.
