What does a first session with you look like?
The time we spend in counseling sessions is important, but it isn't your real life. I want to empower you with tools to try and utilize outside of sessions where you live every day. As a therapist, I have a tool box and we need to figure out which tools work best for you. I give you some tasks to do outside of session not to bombard you with homework, but because I want you to feel relief from what is distressing you and for you to live a better quality of life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a main counseling focus. This involves looking into how you interpret situations, challenging unhelpful thinking patterns, and adjusting behavior in order to have a different outcome and a more clear picture of what is happening.
