What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.

LeeAnn Horner is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who provides compassionate support and counseling to individuals experiencing grief or loss. LeeAnn has 8 years of experience helping adults cope with new medical diagnosis, end-of-life issues, trauma, and the grief that accompanies these life events. Having worked as a business professional prior to changing careers, LeeAnn is uniquely qualified to understand the stress executives encounter while attempting to balance career and personal challenges. Her experience includes significant end-of-life support to patients on hospice and their family members, as well as working within an intensive care unit at a major hospital. LeeAnn s counseling career has included work with individuals newly diagnosed with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses or medical events, supporting their families as they cope with these changes, and significant end of life/grief work. She assists individuals as they navigate these unanticipated life changes. LeeAnn completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at Salem State University. She utilizes a strengths-based approach, helping clients draw on their own resilience and perspective in order to determine a course of action or cope with an acute situation. LeeAnn provides compassionate support as well as gentle guidance through thoughtful questioning. This enables clients to identify priorities and move forward in a manner consistent with their values. LeeAnn believes that each individual knows what is right for him/her/them. Her focus is on allowing individuals to explore their feelings around loss or change and assist them in finding their way forward. LeeAnn understands the anxiety, fear, and grief that can accompany loss so is able to support adults as they learn to cope with difficult life adjustments.
