What does a first session with you look like?

Sessions involve an active dialog between my clients and myself. My goal is to best understand your life and then together we develop alternative perspectives and behaviors to reduce stress and improve coping. I generally give "homework" which is to implement something we together identified as a now approach during the session. You determine the goals which we work towards meetings. Please note that I do not provide opinions about disability or return to work or other activities for clients who are not well-established at the time that the request is made. Additionally, it is not within the scope of my virtual practice to address issues tied to psychosis, bipolar disorder, or borderline personality challenges.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use cognitive-behavioral therapy along with tools tied to mindfulness. Your mental health is part of the broader aspect of your whole health so improving your physical, social, and spiritual health is part of the process of reducing stress and improving mood.
