What does a first session with you look like?

During out first session together I will gather some history from you, ask you to share any and all concerns you are having and we will get to know one another. Collaboratively, we will develop a treatment plan that will make sense for you and focus on your personalized goals. The first session is really important for you to get an idea of how I provide therapy and determine if we are good fit! Throughout our therapeutic work together will will continue to build our relationship and remain focused on your needs and concerns as they develop. Therapy is an ongoing process and symptoms or areas of focus will change along the way. No matter where you feel you are in your journey to mental health I would be honored to be a part of it.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach in therapy which focuses on ways to identify and adjust unhealthy thinking processes and develop healthy thinking which improves mood and increases positive behaviors. I also believe in utilizing a strengths based perspective and person centered approach. Therapy is extremely personal, the focus is you!
