What does a first session with you look like?

When starting therapy you will identify goals, things you may want to change. You should come away from therapy sessions with new insights into how you think and feel. In addition, you will begin to create new, healthier ways to cope with personal challenges.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I use a variety of techniques to help bring about change that you want for yourself. I use a person centered approach, meaning that I work to learn and understand who you are, from your perspective in order help you in the way that works best for you. I also use Cognitive behavioral strategies to work on changing negative thinking patters. In addition, DBT, mindfulness, journaling, and family sessions are utilized when needed.
