What does a first session with you look like?
I strive to create a warm & inviting environment every single session. In the very first session, I want to get to know you and the goals you have (short term & long term). I make each counseling encounter unique to the individual so whether that is through art, music, journaling, or talk-therapy, we will create a plan that is specific to you and your growth. I also believe in teaching techniques that empower you when you face obstacles in your life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I'm a bit of an eclectic therapist and utilize different types of treatment methods such as Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Narrative, Mindfulness, Motivational, and Positive Psychology. Each person is unique and different treatments work best for different clients.
