What does a first session with you look like?

The first session is all about getting to know you: who you are, what you want, and what your current concerns involve. From there we will talk about a plan of working together that moves towards what you'd like to see happen for yourself. We will create some goals and talk about how to achieve them. Each session we will look at things that have worked and haven't worked to help you fine-tune the road map of how to get to where you want to be.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

Not all treatment modalities work for all people, so I will work with you to find what fits for where and who you are. I am trained in a variety of evidenced-based treatment modalities to include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, cognitive processing therapy, trauma focused CBT, mindfulness based therapies, crisis interventions, motivational interviewing, and person centered therapy. I have specialized training in working with members of the military and first responders, as well as working with individuals diagnosed on the autism spectrum.
