What does a first session with you look like?
Within my sessions, I utilize a holistic approach to therapy. I will take the time to get to know you and build a rapport. By using mindfulness-based techniques and exploring the connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and untangle what may be holding you back. As a wellness coach, we will focus on your whole being - emotional, physical and spiritual and what makes you, YOU. Meeting you where you're at in your journey, I will strive to help guide you in creating and reaching the goals you have been wanting to achieve.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Within my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to gain an understanding of how your thoughts impact your emotions and behaviors. My approach to therapy is strengths-based, meaning I prefer to focus on your abilities rather than deficits - I believe everyone is capable of growth and change. I also use a mixture of Trauma-Informed therapy, Grief Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Wellness Coaching. Guided meditations, journaling and goal setting are a few of the techniques I bring to my practice.
