What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Loring Matthews is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who joined LifeStance Health in March 2016 and practices in the Richmond, Virginia West End office. She received her B.A. from Wake Forest University and M. A. in Psychology from University of Richmond. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1997 from the University of Alabama with a specialty in Child Clinical Psychology. She completed her internship year at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Dr. Matthews provides educational and psychological assessments/testing for learning disorders; Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder; Autism Spectrum Disorder; and behavioral, developmental, and emotional disorders. She specializes in working with children and adolescents from ages 4 to 16. In her spare time, Loring enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, and listening to music.
