What does a first session with you look like?
In our first session, we will work together to identify and set goals for your therapy. You will leave with some concrete tools and practices to manage stress, overwhelm or grief. Our first session won't make everything better, but you will have a great start!
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I use a variety of mindfulness based practices that will help to keep you grounded during and in-between your therapy sessions. If your interested in the actual modalities I use, they are mostly: ACT, MBSR, and MB-CBT. I am also a trained EMDR therapist which is very helpful in processing trauma. If you're not a therapist that probably doesn't mean much. So, what you need to know is that you will learn a variety of tools and techniques to help you manage your thoughts and emotions. That's really what it's about, being the "master of your mind". Control your mind, you control your destiny!
