What does a first session with you look like?
Expect sessions to be led by you but guided by me. You will learn something new in every session. After we’ve worked together for a while you will gain confidence in applying the techniques learned in session to your life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I primarily utilize a Humanistic/Client-Centered approach. This approach is based on the assumption that individuals already possess the qualities needed to flourish. This approach encourages curiosity, intuition, creativity, humility, empathy and altruism. I also utilize a Psychodynamic approach, in this approach early experiences and unconscious drives on behavior are considered. Lastly, I utilize a cognitive-behavior approach. In this approach, there is a combination of both cognitive and behavioral approaches. It focuses on how thoughts and behaviors dictate a person’s feelings in a given situation.
