What does a first session with you look like?

I can help you understand what functions your behaviors serve. I can give you concrete, evidence based interventions to change how you feel; emotionally, mentally and physically. I believe your time is valuable, and I will work to make thr most of our sessions. I believe our brains, bodies and behaviors have an incredible capacity to heal.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am trained in a multitude of modalities. Primarily I draw from "The body keeps the score" by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk. I have done much of my trauma training through his lectures. I have also been influenced by Polyvagal theory from Stephen Porges. I utilize attachment theory to help clients understand relationship dynamics. I teach somatic and embodied modalities as well to help people heal through body movement, breathwork and sensory activity. I have been trained in DBT and rely on that to help make sustainable behavior changes.
