What does a first session with you look like?

During our first session, you can expect an initial dialogue, just as you would when you first meet someone at school, work, at the park, etc. We will get to know each other gradually, over time; future visits will be therapeutic in nature. In the first sessions, you can expect to answer questions about what you are feeling, what brought you to therapy, and your history. The goal will be to clearly establish your need, come together to determine the goal for our therapeutic work together, and develop a plan as we build our rapport.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I take a holistic and person-centered approach, looking at the different areas of your life, how they interconnect, and how they impact your present struggle. Talk therapy is my primary method when initially meeting with a client; from there, based on your unique needs, strengths, and interests, we will work together to find an individualized approach for your well-being. I utilize techniques and methods from various approaches, with a focus on unconditional positive regard, positive therapeutic approaches, mindfulness, and strengths-based modalities.
