What does a first session with you look like?

Our work together will be a collaboration between you and me. As a trauma therapist, I believe that we are who we are because of what happened to us. I believe that you are the expert of your life and you have the answers inside you. I am equipped with the right questions and also have the training to guide you in making changes in your life. Our work involves radical self love and acceptance despite the traumas, the hurt, the disappointments you have gone through. You and I will create Your Mindfulness Toolbox for you to practice and utilize when stressors, uncertainties and triggers come up. You may also receive some articles, podcast and videos that may help in your journey with me.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

When we meet, we do mindfulness based trauma therapy, trauma focused therapy, Inner Child Work, Internal Family System, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy (grounding of the nervous system), mindfulness exercises (breathing techniques, guided relaxation, meditation) and sometimes a little bit of art therapy. You will get a recap of our session and homework/reflections to do.
