What does a first session with you look like?

Hello, I'm Mary. Do you feel overwhelmed with the pressures life continues to throw your way? Are you unable to fit it all in? Do you feel lonely, depressed or afraid? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? Are you concerned about your use of alcohol or drugs? Are you unsure what to do about it? Is your family worried about you? Do you want to make changes in your life but don't know how? If you answer yes to any of these questions, I am here to help. I am experienced in helping individuals learn to manage stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms and addiction concerns. Together, we can identify what's not working for you and develop a plan to get your life back into balance. We'll use a person-centered approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit while integrating mindfulness techniques. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety, depression or addiction concerns, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome whatever is holding you back. Let's work together!

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am an eclectic therapist which means I customize the therapeutic process for each individual I see by using the best methodology, treatment or combination of treatments that is most helpful for your needs. I use a fusion of therapeutic approaches that are driven by your preferences but are also evidenced based. I am most comfortable using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness and person-centered approaches.
