What does a first session with you look like?
Specializing in child development as young as 18 months, I will assess your child by providing you with questionnaires for you to fill out. When a diagnosis is confirmed, goals will be the guideposts for therapy and make discussing progress in therapy more tangible. Some common goals for younger children in therapy might include things like increasing their emotional literacy, learning how to express emotions helpfully, processing through traumatic experiences, falling asleep more easily at night, decreasing their separation anxiety, etc. Your child's goals will be personalized to their unique needs and goals can change over time as your child develops new skills and faces new challenges. I hope this has helped explain what to expect during your first intake session with your child.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Working with children ages 3-12 who struggle with worry and anxiety, ADHD, really big emotions, behavioral challenges, or who are going through big changes in their little lives.
