What does a first session with you look like?

Our first session will primarily focus on discussing what's brought you into seeking talk therapy, and identify an outline for treatment goals. As we progress, the goals we set can be adjusted as needed. A strong benefit of talk therapy is that it is incredible versatile. You might find some days you're looking for direct feedback, and other days you may need more process-focused attention.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am well educated and practiced with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy. While these modalities have district difference, they both place significance on examining the relationship/influence of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and have emphasis on improving emotional regulation. I find these modalities to be immediately helpful to clients and is a strong focus early in treatment. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on helping you increase your understanding of feelings that you're not completely aware of. Often times these feelings contribute to repetitive patterns of behavior that frustrates us. I've found a blend between these modalities has lead to positive outcomes for clients.
