What does a first session with you look like?

I believe therapy should be direct and helpful, the world is chaotic and full of suffering, and I hope to provide concrete tools and methods of developing insight that make a measurable difference in my client's lives. With me, I can promise a space free of judgement and unhelpful advice. We will figure out how you can go from barely surviving, to fully thriving, no matter what obstacles you face.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I utilize three evidence based models of psychotherapy. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is a type of psychotherapy that involves a combination of cognitive therapy, meditation, and the cultivation of a present-oriented, non-judgmental attitude called "mindfulness." Attachment-based family therapy (ABFT) aims to repair interpersonal ruptures and rebuild emotionally protective, secure relationships between family members. EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.
