What does a first session with you look like?
I typically dedicated an initial session to reviewing relevant policy aspects to engaging in a therapeutic relationship with a mental health professional, sharing aspects about myself relevant to care, conducting a clinical interview, and learning more about the person I'm seeing including any initial concerns they may bring to my attention. I also try to establish some initial goals an individual may want to accomplish in our relationship.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My care is primarily guided by the healing powers of relationship, authenticity, establishing trust, and exploring aspects of perceived resiliency. Within this context I tend to implore therapeutic modalities of an eclectic nature from various psychological disciplines including: cognitive-behavior, humanistic, existential, and family systems perspectives.
