In our first session, we will complete an assessment to help me better understand where you are currently and where you would like to go. Based upon individualized needs, tools and strategies will be discussed to help you build on your strengths to work through problems as they arise. Each session will begin with an overall review of your week then explore in more depth the challenges and accomplishments throughout the week. Each session will leave you feeling more calm and self-assured that you can make it through difficulties in your life.
When working with individuals, I have utilized Cognitive Behavior Therapy (a form of therapy which looks into an individuals history, motivations and abilities to change our thinking patterns) to help clients see how their thoughts and reactions to situations could change the outcome. Although the cause of anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns are out of our control, we do hold power to shape a desirable outcome and ultimately improve our lives. In each session, we will work together to identify the problem and look into how you are thinking about the issues.
