The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems.

Melissa Morton is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who has over ten years experience working with individuals seeking help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship issues, and life transitions. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California. She specializes in treating children and adolescents coping with academic, social and emotional stressors, young adults facing coming of age transitions, and adults adapting to their changing environment and coping with life s many challenges. She supports all of her clients by helping to identify and remove barriers to personal growth. Melissa utilizes a psychodynamic approach to therapy, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Play Therapy and Trauma Informed Therapy. Drawing on her training in dual-diagnosis treatment and the mind-body connection, she assists clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms and healthy living habits that seek to strengthen an individual s ability to be resilient in the face of life s challenges. Melissa seeks to establish a warm and supportive, non-judgmental relationship with her clients in order to facilitate growth and build on strengths to assist clients in reaching their personal therapeutic goals.
