What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Meredith Braden-MacMullan is an experienced national certified counselor and licensed clinical professional counselor. She attended Virginia Tech where she earned her bachelor's degree in International Studies. After college, she went on to earn her first Master's degree in Public Policy from George Mason University and worked internationally. She later followed her dream of working in a direct helping-profession by returning to school to study counseling. Meredith attended Wake Forest University where she earned her Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In addition to her graduate education, Meredith has specialized training in the areas of trauma, play therapy and relationships. She has completed Level 1 Trauma training at the Ferentz Institute and has completed training with Maryland's Trauma, Addictions, Mental Health, and recovery program. She has also completed Level 1 TheraPlay training for mental health treatment with children as well as Level 1 Clinical Training in Couples Therapy with the Gottman Institute. Meredith has experience providing counseling and psychotherapy in various settings including outpatient mental health clinics, school-based programs and private practice.
