What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Dr. Micah Mammen is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in early childhood mental health and development. Micah completed her doctoral training in Child Clinical Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Throughout her training, Micah gained extensive experience assessing and treating young children and attained Infant Mental Health Specialist and Child-Parent Psychotherapy certifications. Early childhood can be a joyful, but frequently challenging time, and seeking support early on can make a big difference for children and their families. Micah works with children (birth to 17 years of age) and their families to address a variety of concerns, including fear/anxiety, sadness/withdrawal, social/relationship difficulties, sleep disturbances, noncompliance, aggression, tantrums, adapting to changes, and difficulties resulting from traumatic experiences. Micah views therapy as an opportunity to support caregivers and help children learn important lifelong skills, such as recovering from disappointments, communicating their feelings appropriately, and navigating peer conflicts.
