What does a first session with you look like?
By the end of our first session, you will begin to understand the impact of your challenges on your daily life. I will offer you tasks (homework, readings, etc) to complete between our sessions that will focus on what we learned in session. I will also offer you encouragement and support that you can learn to take with you after each meeting.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My primary treatment method focuses on Attachment Theory, focusing on the relationships you have with others and yourself, and how emotions and thoughts can impact, as well as empower relationships. I also use mindfulness approaches, including skills to help you maintain presence throughout our sessions and your daily activities. With these methods, I incorporate Motivational Interviewing skills that allows you to gain insight into the reasons for your interactions throughout daily life.
