What does a first session with you look like?

At our first session, we will complete an intake assessment. During the assessment we explore all areas of your life and talk about your strengths and the struggles that you are experiencing. In the following sessions, we will work from a treatment plan that we create together with the goals you want to achieve in counseling.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am a cognitive behavioral therapist primarily but I also pull from solution focused therapy, DBT, and person centered approaches. I strongly believe that what we think, feel and do are interrelated. I want to fill your toolbox with skills you can use to manage mood, emotions, thoughts and behaviors. I also believe that getting to know yourself better is essential. We will explore your values, beliefs and personality as well.
