What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Lorraine La Pierre is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health industry, 5 of which have been practicing individual therapy with patients between the ages of 20 and 65. Lorraine's experience is varied across many settings including community mental health agencies, day treatment facilities and state and community hospitals. Lorraine treats patients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders and some relationship issues. She teaches Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral skills utilizing a Person-Centered therapeutic approach based on the patients needs, goals and motivation. In her free time, Lorraine enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She also loves to read, bowl, and is currently learning to play golf. Lorraine has an Educational Specialist degree in Counseling Services and a Master of Arts in Community Counseling and from Rider University in New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in North Carolina.
