What does a first session with you look like?
I believe the client "drives the car" and I am your copilot in navigating the way. In our first session we will discuss you concerns, explore areas you are struggling with, and get to know each other. One of the keys to a productive therapy experience is the rapport between the clinician and the client and we will work to establish if we are a good fit together. Once we are able to better understand the issues you are struggling with, we will work together to define our goals. I often prescribe "homework" which may entail practicing certain exercises, reflecting on topics, journaling, etc.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I take an eclectic approach to therapy where I pull from multiple treatment methods to best fit your needs. I often utilize techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and client centered therapy.
