What does a first session with you look like?
During our first meeting I like to spend a little time getting to know you as a person, as well as setting expectations for our work together. I will also ask you to share how your problems are impacting your daily life. Together we'll work on a plan for how to improve your mental well-being and achieve more balance in your life.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I help you understand and resolve challenges that arise from the multifaceted interactions of physical and mental health, including the social determinants of health (physical/social environment, socioeconomic, social support, education, gender, and culture). I then integrate various therapeutic methods to meet your specific needs, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative, and solution-focused therapy.
