What does a first session with you look like?

I am a person-centered therapist and while I am an experienced professional, you are the expert on yourself, so you can expect that we will be working together to work through (and sometimes with!) your issues. You are the one in charge, not me. Of course, I will guide the way if and when needed, but we do not go anywhere you do not want to go. Therapy takes time, and we can take as much time as we need.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am what's known as an eclectic therapist, meaning that I take from all of the different branches and theories of psychotherapy and utilize what best fits your needs. I am primarily person-centered and use an acceptance and commitment approach with some cognitive behavioral techniques, but I will do the research and use what works for you.
