What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a solution-focused and person-centered therapist, my goal is to support, collaborate, and guide you to develop strategies that will work to move you forward toward a life you can embrace positively and whole-heartedly; whether in your work world, personal relationships, or recreational activities.
What should we know about your experiences and background?
Pamela is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, providing therapy to individuals and couples of all ages and from all walks of life. Many of her clients have concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationship difficulties, and life changes. Pamela believes working through those challenges presents the opportunity for personal growth! Pamela completed her Master's in Professional Counseling at Argosy University in Dallas, TX. She has a Master's degree in Hospital and Healthcare Administration from UAB, and worked as a healthcare manager/administrator for many years in hospitals and physician offices. She was a healthcare consultant for physician start-ups and mature practices, increasing the bottom line and efficiency of each consulting practice. Pamela utilizes multiple treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, art therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. All of us find ourselves in life situations that may cause us to be overwhelmed or in need of advice and support. A client/therapist relationship with mutual trust and understanding is paramount for being able to make positive changes in the areas that may not be working in your life, so finding a therapist who will be a good fit for you is essential. Pamela would be honored to support, collaborate, and guide you on this journey to learn techniques and tools to assist you in coping with the areas of your life that are not quite working for you.
