What does a first session with you look like?
When working with me I will look for areas of strength and where you are doing well in your life, as well as the areas where you want to see change and improvement. I will work to help you see your light as well as what you may experience as your darker, conflicted side. I will take your struggles seriously and bring compassion and empathy to our session.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
Our inner pain is real to us and I take this seriously. I practice deep listening, compassion and a heart-centered approach to therapy. I bring in mindfulness, spirituality (what this means to you and where it is appropriate), body awareness and sensitivity to what you present. We will set goals and explore how to meet these goals, taking your lead and understanding that all of our needs are different. We can explore your past and what from your past you carry to your present.
