What does a first session with you look like?
When we work together you can expect active listening and clear communication. Treatment is driven by client needs, not by steps in a program. Building trust and respect is the biggest part of our relationship, you deserve that! Sessions will include updates from the time you had between appointments, new issues, what you would like to focus on, goal setting, and plans to meet again.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach is solution-focused and driven by the needs of my client. One treatment strategy doesn't fit everyone, so we work together on the best way to use your sessions. Respect and building relationships are the cornerstones of success. Some modalities for treatment include cognitive behavioral treatment (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). There are many ways to accomplish your goals for therapy.
