What does a first session with you look like?

The treatment process is based on the concept of identity integration, where you are helped with clarifying the various aspects of yourself that can often create mind chatter and confusion. I will guide you on how to listen to and honor the various parts of yourself that seek a voice, whether that be a thought, feeling, or observation, while challenging self-limiting beliefs, using a kind and loving approach that is transferable to other life challenges. You can come to each therapy session resting assured there is an understanding of how your identity impacts your worldview and presenting issues.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I incorporate techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because of the emphasis on identifying core values and beliefs that become central to the therapeutic process. ACT also focuses on tactics to cope with and manage negative thought processes, sensations, and situations through radical acceptance. I work with clients on aligning their core values and beliefs with their behaviors and environments. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy to process and address circumstances as they arise in sessions.
