Under Clinical Supervision

Rachael Kates, Resident, 123 is practicing under the supervision of Cassi Haberler (Georgia, LPC, LPC007407) at Thriveworks Atlanta Counseling.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What does a first session with you look like?

The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. Clients are guided and supported as they work through their unique mental health challenges – and, along the way, shown the life-changing power of therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I am excited to have the opportunity, experience, and ability to help you build a life worth living.

What should we know about your experiences and background?

Hi, I m Rachael! I m excited for us to get started on your therapy journey because you re ready to take action and together, change is possible. I believe your pain is real and that you are the expert on your own life. I work to meet my teen and adult clients where they are to help them move forward towards their dreams and I feel that anyone who puts in the willingness and effort can make progress. I m a Licensed Master Social Worker with more than 4 years experience providing therapy and support services in the areas of LGBTQ+ issues, invalidating environments, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, depression, personality disorders, schizophrenia, adaptive coping skills and helping people heal themselves. I conduct therapy from an integrative strengths-based, humanistic approach based on honesty, empathy, radical genuineness, irreverence and enthusiasm. I use collaborative problem-solving and narrative strategies along with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills to help my clients make their goals a reality. You can tell me anything, and I will receive you without judgment. My goal is to create a caring and validating relationship with you to provide a safe space so I can be a supportive resource for you to use in order to develop your strengths, explore your own identity, and create a life worth living.
