Under Clinical Supervision

Rachel Kern, Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, 44SL06628100 is practicing under the supervision of Catherine Nakonetschny (New Jersey, LCSW, 44SC05744200) at NOCD.

Please, note: A clinician listed as being “clinically supervised” is completing clinical hours toward their licensure. They have one or more fully licensed clinical supervisors that often have special training to become supervisors. They consult with their supervisor(s) on all of their cases, which means that, when working with them, you are getting the time and expertise of multiple therapists in your treatment.

What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

As an OCD therapist, I combine my personal experience with professional expertise to provide compassionate and effective care. My journey into clinical social work was inspired by my own struggles with OCD, which were finally diagnosed during the COVID-19 pandemic, and my commitment to helping others achieve lasting change through evidence-based treatments. I strive to create a non-judgmental and safe environment for my clients. I'm receptive to what makes you feel comfortable, but the outcome of your therapy will be the result of your efforts. My colleagues and I focus on delivering evidence-based treatment for OCD. Our deep understanding of its nuances enables us to properly diagnose and treat it. We have received intensive training in ERP to ensure the best possible care. When you start with therapy, you’ll either work with me or be paired with one of my colleagues based on your preference and availability. We'll take the time to get to know you and create a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. Additionally, we offer support between sessions through direct messaging and a community of peers with OCD, ensuring you never feel alone. I’m ready to support you in overcoming OCD and achieving your goals.
