What does a first session with you look like?
My goal is to create a safe and inviting environment where you feel heard, validated, and supported. You can expect to increase self-awareness, learn and utilize problem-solving techniques, and acquire a host of skills to assist in your healing journey.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I am a person-centered/solution-focused therapist who empowers clients to find solutions, expand insight and self-awareness, strengthen self-worth, and improve self-reliance while reminding them that they are the experts of their own lives. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to assist in challenging negative thinking patterns, so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help work toward acceptance by managing feelings and emotions, and EMDR trained to assist in processing trauma that is negatively affecting one’s overall mental well-being.
