Learn more about my:

What does a first session with you look like?

Our initial session will focus on conducting a thorough biopsychosocial-spiritual-cultural and lethality/imminent danger assessment - don't worry it sounds more intimidating than it actually is, so try to relax and enjoy this safe place together. We will also discuss your consent to engage into therapy sessions and your understanding of how we will work together. During our next sessions you will have your chance to just unwind and further express your reason for why you are seeking my service. I want to hear your concerns and all about your journey that brought us together.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

At times I may ask you to do a task in between sessions. We may perform some written assignments during our sessions to evaluate and assess your current levels of emotions, safety, functionality. Although there may be a great deal of psycho-education, these are not academic, so there is no need to worry about being graded. I am here for you at your request so at any time you feel we need to discuss our way of working together it will be welcomed and respected. Some assessment tools I may use includes: a genogram, ecomap, and possibly an anxiety and depression scale. Other assessments my be used as needed. A genogram is a picture of a person's family relationships and history. An ecomap is a structural diagram of your most important relationships with people, organizations, and resources.
