The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. As a therapist with nearly ten years in the field, I understand the importance of meeting my clients where they are at.

Rebecca MacGillivray is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with more than 9 years of experience who specializes in helping clients who are faced with anxiety, phobias, chronic stress, addiction, trauma, PTSD, and depression. She also specializes in working with individuals who are struggling with identity issues. Rebecca earned herMaster's degree in Social Work from Aurora University andleads with empathy, working hard to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each of her clients. Her goal is to provide a safe, collaborative, and confidential environment in order to explore issues of concern. She uses a variety of treatment approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered interventions, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Taking the first step in order to engage in therapy takes great courage, and Rebecca understands how difficult this can be and strives to support each of her clients along the way.
