What does a first session with you look like?
Our first session consists of a thorough medical and mental health history. Some medical conditions present with symptoms of anxiety and depression, so it is important to rule out physiological conditions.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
My approach to care utilizes motivational interviewing and Phil Barker’s “Tidal Theory.” Phil Barker’s “Ten Commandments” focus on the client being in charge rather than fully on medication or my giving directions. The client drives the conversation, and plan of care, and decides when they are ready to change. My goal is to listen, help you navigate your “journey of life”, and provide you the support and resources to move along your plan.
