What does a first session with you look like?

Clients who work with me can expect a therapist who will listen to their story, not make assumptions, and who will respect their autonomy in and out of sessions. I do not tell my clients what to do, I help them discover for themselves a way forward that they are motivated to pursue. I will consistently check in about how therapy is going, gather feedback, and change my approach when it is needed. I love feedback because it makes me better. So expect to feel that you are in control and have input. I also will not drag therapy out when clients are ready to finish. It's an integral part of my approach to have consistent conversations about what client's goals are, when we have reached them, and when clients are ready to stop therapy.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

I am skilled with cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, family therapy, solution focused brief therapy, exposure and response prevention, and I also have some experience with DBT.
