What is your style/approach to therapy?

As a trained generalist social work practitioner and psychotherapist, my treatment methods entail an integrated therapeutic approach. One can expect to experience a client-focused form of talk therapy that was developed by humanist psychologist Carl Rogers, where the therapist requires a certain level of self-awareness that allows them to act as an equal partner in the therapeutic process and can exhibit an understanding of how internalized thoughts and feelings interact with external experiences. This approach allows the client to self reflect and become more entuned with a realistic view of themselves and the world. The ultimate goal of therapy is to increase self-efficacy, build self-esteem, make positive lasting changes and improve one's overall quality of life.

What does a first session with you look like?

After our initial intake assessment, clients can expect an honest, trustworthy, assertive psychotherapist that actively engages and listens to your needs, wants and desires while identifying and challenging negative thoughts and mistaken core beliefs. Clients will not only learn how we developed these self-sabotaging internalized negative beliefs, but will be empowered to take responsibility and accountability for what is in our control and change our own behaviors, all while exploring in a secure, supportive, and non-judgmental virtual space. Using a combination of guided therapeutic approaches related to self examination and observation, acceptance and tolerance, and self-forgiveness and compassion, one is surely on their way to discovering a better version of themselves!
