What does a first session with you look like?

You can expect me to listen with compassion and to provide trauma-informed, gender affirming care. Appointments are delivered via HIPAA secure telehealth and include a comprehensive history, assessment, and discussion about diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. New patient appointments typically last 60 minutes with 30 minutes follow ups, including placing orders and scheduling next visit. Please note: **I do not prescribe stimulants without a full work up for ADHD. **Benzodiazepines are only prescribed for medical necessity. If you are dependent on benzodiazepines, then my goal will be to taper the dose and transition you to a safer medication to manage anxiety.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

My therapeutic philosophy is centered on individually-tailored care, collaboration with clients’ primary care providers, therapists, psychologists and college counselors. Through continuous education and highlighting clients' strengths, I enjoy working with clients to employ the most current treatment interventions. Since every client is unique, so are treatment plans. I will help you explore the underlying causes of symptoms and use a combination of medication and other treatment tools to address symptoms, such as behavioral change, brief therapy, cognitive reframing, coping skill development, guided relaxation, motivational interviewing, rating and screening tools, and more.
