What does a first session with you look like?

According to research, the therapeutic relationship is instrumental in your healing. My practice begins with a short 15-minute phone consultation. If it is determined to be a good fit and we agree to work together, I will email you an intake packet and we schedule your first session. Therapy is interactive, structured, and yet flexible. This is your session, and you are given a non-judgmental and supportive space to express yourself as freely as you like. Change happens best when it is carried outside of the session. This may look like you thinking about what was discussed in session, short assignments, and practice of coping methods.

What is your style/approach to therapy?

Treatment is not a one size fits all approach. I customize treatment to fit with your personality and your situation. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities with emphasis in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
