In our first session, you can expect me to ask what lead you to seek out therapy at this time in your life, a little bit about your daily life, and then just some casual conversation, much like meeting a new friend:-) The first session or two is about establishing your comfort and confidence with me as your therapist andwhat your goals are for therapy. Clients have often complimented me on the ease with which they have been able to share their thoughts and feelings in my virtual "office." My philosophy in helping clients is based on mutual respect and approaching each client with sensitivity and "unconditional positive regard" (Rogers), and I have been known among my peers as a therapist willing to take on the most challenging circumstances.

Someone rarely seeks out therapy for one specific problem, and I recognize that often there are multiple things that we struggle with, as we are all a combination of body/mind/spirit. One approach that makes sense is to work on the problem that is the most problematic, and then "work backward" from there, always moving toward sustainable healing and solutions. My practice is built upon the concepts of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and self-awareness, and the belief that we all have the power to make incredible changes for the better in our own lives. There is living proof of this ability all around us!:-)
