What does a first session with you look like?
The first session, as with all Thriveworks therapists, will involve talking through your needs and goals for therapy — whether those involve managing depression, anxiety, relationship problems, or another mental health challenge. This will enable you to receive the very best care, as a personalized treatment plan will then be developed for subsequent sessions. Thriveworks helps people live happier, more fulfilling lives. What is your style/approach to therapy?
I offer a variety of counseling approaches including CBT / Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems. I offer over 30 years of experience helping teens and adults manage life's issues more effectively.

Sam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who brings a wealth of experience helping teens and adults manage a broad variety of life challenges. Sam specializes in the utilization of reality therapy and offers a solution-oriented approach to counseling to assist clients in the management of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and major life transitions. Sam completed his Master of Social Work degree at the University of South Carolina in 1993 and has spent 30 years helping teens and adults in inpatient and outpatient settings. Sam utilizes a person-centered, solution-oriented, no-nonsense approach. Life is a journey. We should all "enjoy the ride."
