What does a first session with you look like?
When working with me I like to focus on having a safe place for you to express and explore feelings and examine patterns of behavior. I am committed to teaching and helping you practice the tools you need to cope with various stressors in your life. Relationships are very important to me as well. I am easygoing, supportive and have a good sense of humor. It takes a lot of courage and strength to ask for help and want to work on being a healthier, happier you. I hope to help you find your way.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I utilize a multi-modality approach with my clients. I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma- Informed Therapy and Psycho-Education. I'm sure my extensive work experience in the school system influenced my approach-- I like to have clients understand cycles, stages, relationship dynamics, etc. Basically, together we focus on having the tools you need to have a more rewarding life.
