What does a first session with you look like?
After your first session, I expect you to feel that you have found someone who finally understands without having to explain every small thing about your profession or volunteering. It usually takes more than one session to truly get to know you, but together we will figure out a comfortable and desirable direction to take in therapy which will help you feel better over time.
What is your style/approach to therapy?
I take an eclectic approach in that I utilize a "gunny-sack" of methods and tools collected and learned over decades of counseling. Some but not all would include ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), grief counseling using various models, anxiety reduction techniques, bibliotherapy, and psychodynamic approach.
