What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?

Sarah Batzel is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia who has been practicing since 2020. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Kennesaw State University in 2015 and completed her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in 2019. Sarah enjoys working with clients in the therapeutic process in a variety of specialty areas including substance abuse, emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, relational dynamics and challenges, and navigating life transitions. She has experience working in a dual-diagnosis substance abuse treatment setting with adults and families through the recovery process. Sarah's approach in therapy focuses on meeting clients where they are and working to be supportive in the process of confronting challenges and building autonomy. Whether you are questioning your relationship with substances or wanting to use therapy as a tool to deepen your recovery, Sarah's aim is to help you to explore areas of continued growth. Sarah also works with couples navigating the recovery process together, understanding that these changes affect the dynamic of the couple and not just the individual.
